2010 YK Beach Volleyball League

Yellowknife’s only Beach Volleyball League offers play for ALL SKILL LEVELS!!

Located at Long Lake Beach @ Fred Henne Park (use the Day-Use parking area, and walk down the path to reach the beach)

Open House/Registration day: Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 1:00pm-4:00pm – come out and play some pick-up games with friends, and sign up to join this year’s YK Beach Volleyball League!!

League runs from June-August 2009

Tuesdays @ 6:00pm – Men’s and Women’s League Night (2 players per team)

Wednesdays @ 6:00pm – Co-Ed Night (1 male and 1 female player per team)

Thursdays @6:00pm – King/Queen of the Beach Night (4 individuals assigned per court to play a “king of the court” style match)

Due to the great range of skill levels, every night will feature a variety of courts available for different levels, it’s on a first come, first serve basis… Expect to have a TON of fun, and increase your skills.

League Fee: $35 per person for the entire summer – gets you access to all the league nights.  Fees go towards equipment costs, clinics, incidentals, prizes and mid-summer Barbecue.

Be sure to wear layers, and expect to play in all kinds of temperatures and increment weather.  We play rain or shine!  Note that we’ve experienced evenings at the beach with brilliantly warm sunshine and dry conditions while at the same time, downtown Yellowknife is pouring rain – so when in doubt, get to the beach!  We will stop playing at the first sign of lightening.
